Croatia is one of six target countries in the BiG>East project. The objective is to promote biogas as renewable energy source and as waste treatment technology. This is achieved by the implementation of training courses for farmers and mobilisation campaigns for decision makers. Dedicated studies on biogas opportunities, policies and barriers in Croatia support this initiative.

Biogas Opportunities in Croatia
The BiG>East Consortium is investigating the opportunities for biogas implementation in Croatia. This includes an assessment of the biogas potential in Croatia. The following studies were elaborated in the framework of the BiG>East project:

The first activity of the Stakeholder Mobilisation Campaign was implemented in the framework of the BiG>East project on 26 February 2008 in Zagreb, Croatia.
The objective of this Stakeholder Breakfast was to inform interested stakeholders from Croatia about opportunities to produce and to use biogas in Croatia.
Biogas plant manufacturers, planners and consultants gave technical presentations about biogas installations and BiG>East activities.
